Asscher-cut Krupp Diamond

 We try to use our blogs as a source of information, education, and entertainment. So, whenever we have a little bit of historical information, we love to share. Elizabeth Taylor had a love affair with diamonds.  Richard Burton's first big purchase for his wife was the 33.19 carat Asscher-cut Krupp Diamond, which is cut similarly to an emerald cut. Originally belonging to the Krupp estate, it was given to Elizabeth Taylor in 1968 and was mounted on a ring. Elizabeth wore the ring faithfully.

Richard Burton later acquired the Taj-Mahal – not the building – but a flat heart shaped diamond with inscribed Arabic, surrounded by rubies and diamonds and a yellow-gold necklace. Given for her 40th birthday, the Taj-Mahal was an exquisite gift of rare beauty.

 One of her best known pieces is the Taylor-Burton diamond, a nearly 70 carat pear shaped diamond taken from the premier mine in South Africa, a well known diamond mine for the highest ranking natural diamonds. Although not the biggest gem in the mine, the Taylor-Burton diamond was considered one of the best ranking diamonds of its time. It was later sold by Taylor to raise money for a hospital in Botswana.

Launched by the design house of Elizabeth Taylor in 1993, diamonds & emeralds perfume is classified as a sharp, flowery fragrance . This feminine scent possesses a blend of green floral top notes with white rose, water lily and gardenia, with lower notes of carnation and jasmine.

Diamonds & Emeralds perfume is a great day time fragrance and super versatile. Wear it while you are out and about, at the office, and to your children’s school functions. Each time I wear this fragrance, it’s classic notes are easily recognizable by Liz fans and complimented. One of my favorite things about the Elizabeth Taylor Diamonds perfume collection is the bottles. If you are like me, the bottle of my perfume is as equally important as the fragrance. The diamond collection’s bottles are sleek, simple, classy, and sophisticated.  The ring around the top part of the bottles gently displays faux diamonds adding the style and grace we all know as Liz Taylor.

One of my favorites is the classy Diamonds & Sapphire Perfume.  Launched by the design house of elizabeth taylor in 1993, diamonds & sapphires is classified as a refreshing, flowery fragrance. This feminine scent possesses a blend of a fresh cut floral bouquet of lily of the valley, rose, ylang-ylang, jasmine and spice. A later hint of musky sandalwood. It is perfect for office wear, business meetings, and daytime use.

Who can forget White Diamonds? White diamonds once again shows Liz Taylor’s exceptional sense of style. This sophisticated floral has notes of italian neroli, living amazon lily, egyptian tuberose, turkish rose, italian orris, living narcissus, living jasmine, italian sandalwood, patchouli, amber, and oakmoss .

With her sense of sophistication and style, we celebrate Liz as she designed fragrances of class for all age groups to enjoy. It was evident with her fragrance Forever Elizabeth, which left us with a legacy of pure scented delight.  Forever Elizabeth for women was introduced by Elizabeth Taylor in 2002 . Forever Elizabeth has a sensual blend of dewberry, jasmine, amber and musk. Forever Elizabeth is recommended for casual wear.

Queen Latifah Perfume Making Splashes - See Video of Queen Singing to President

In honor of our favorite fragrance of the week, Queen Perfume by Queen Latifah, we wanted to see what others across the web were saying about the fragrance. Check out some of the reviews others have written.

I bought this originally for myself as it was supposed to smell like Tom Ford Noir de Noir. It does have some similarities, but it's price is better, so the comparisons are what you'd expect. On it's own merits this is a nice fragrance for a super cheap price. My wife liked the bottle design and I like it on her much more than on myself. by Silentrich

As a fragrance connoisseur, one of the things I look for is the ability to turn a purchase into an asset.
During this time of economic decline, we must look at fashion and beauty as assets. We need to get the most use of a product for our money. Queen Perfume definitely came through with flying colors on that end. Not only was it a beauty asset, it was a money maker. After spraying a bit on my pulse points, you know, the hip-hop beat to my heart, I left out of the office for a day of potential new client meetings. As soon as I arrived to meet with the first potential client, we shook hands and started chatting. Part of my whole persona in captivating a new potential client is all about the charm. Before we could even get to the meat of the business meeting, my potential client commented on the scent I was wearing. She loved the fact that it was a unique and noticeable scent, but not over-powering. I informed her that I was trying something new and let her know that it was Queen by Queen Latifah. She was shocked that this beautiful scent was a celebrity fragrance. We both found a common ground as we reminisced about our experiences with Queen Latifah music and movies. Needless to say, I walked away with the account.

Each week at Scentual Desire, we pick a favorite beauty product and this week we picked picked Queen Perfume by Queen Latifah. We absolutely love this scent and were completely surprised that a celebrity scent could offer such fragrance fulfillment. Queen Perfume by Queen Latifah, All hail the queen! the singer, actress, and model is role model for women worldwide . Queen latifah was very involved in developing her first scent, an oriental fragrance for women. Tequila (her favorite drink) is central to the composition and enhanced by italian bergamot and mediterranean mandarin. The heart notes beat with sensuality; rare baie rose,jasmine noir, cognac, and moroccan coriander. The base notes are indonesian patchouli, sandalwood, vanilla, egyptian incense and sexy musk. Perfect Pink Sugar

Welcome to our final day of the week we have spent chatting about one of our favorite perfumes, Pink Sugar by Aquolina. We hope you have found the information helpful and entertaining. Pink Sugar Scent

This scent is extremely popular for many reasons. The name “Pink Sugar” is perfect- it smells girly and super sweet. Upon initial spray, a bakery-like aroma fills the air around you; you can clearly smell the vanilla, cotton candy, and caramel notes. And I find that depending who you come in contact with, the opinion of what this “smell” is can change- while wearing this scent, I’ve heard everything from “You smell like marshmallows” to “Something here smells like cupcakes” from guys and girls alike. As the scent develops and dries down, the deeper notes of musk and powder start to come through while still retaining the sweetness from before.

There’s no doubt that Pink Sugar is meant to make you smell like some sort of sugar-laden treat. While some may find that they love gourmand (foodie) scents like this (I personally love them), others may be turned off by the idea of coming off as a walking desert. This candy-like smell can suit all ages, but depending on your taste, you might consider this smell to be too childish.

Application and Staying Power

The staying power of the toilette is incredible; I can still clearly smell the perfume on my skin at the end of the day, and it sometimes sticks to my clothes for the next few days. Take extreme caution as to not bathe yourself in this perfume. Just a few spritzes on the pulse points are definitely enough before it becomes overpowering. Any more and you will definitely give those around you, and yourself, a headache. This scent is quite heavy and is probably best suited for colder months, but can be worn from daytime to nighttime.

Other Products

The hair perfume has the same scent, but slightly fainter and lacking just a little in the depth department compared to the toilette. As a hair product, it doesn’t deliver very much. Alcohol denatured is listed as the first ingredient, so it can be slightly drying, but it contains silicones to “soften hair” and other ingredients for UV protection. The product will weigh down hair if used excessively.
